HydroShok

Today, most drainage bases are made from various layers of gravel mixes above lateral drainage pipes evacuating water to perimeter drains. Blue Sky recently introduced a proven, non-stone base, called Hydroshok. The Hydroshok system is made up of medium to large particles of recycled rubber blended with a polyurethane mix. That material is then poured in a malleable form onto the sub-base and compacted and leveled. The result is a base that offers fabulous stability, exceptional drainage and additional safety shock absorbency. The all-rubber coated design allows for water to pass through the compacted granules adding an extra level of drainage at every square inch of the field. Our advanced drainage system flushes water in excess of 100 in/hr. This added system of drainage means that fields with Hydroshok will never puddle or absorb harmful bacteria, fungus, or algae. Rubber systems are safer for the players and better for the environment.

An additional benefit of the Hydroshok system is the elimination of the exportation of large amounts of native soil and the importation of stone material. Other advantages to the Hydroshok system are that installation time can be cut nearly in half, the insitu natural of the system makes your new field one homogenous base that results in a more consistent surface underfoot, and the base cost can be reduced by up to 25%.
